Allie Graham is a dancer, actor and choreographer based in Sydney. Her artistic practice spans contemporary dance, physical theatre, opera and film. Allie trained with Sydney Dance Company’s Pre Professional Year (2016), a recipient of the Mary Zuber Scholarship and Ev & Bow Fulltime Dance Centre (2014-15).
As a performer, Allie has worked extensively in the realm of opera and physical theatre touring as a solo dance artist with Opera Australia as The Milkmaid in Reimann’s Ghost Sonata directed by Greg Eldridge, touring Sydney and Melbourne (Malthouse Theatre). As an artist with Opera Australia, Allie has also performed in Verdi's AIDA, Il Trovatore, Attila and Opera for the People at the Sydney Opera House.
In 2022, Allie performed the role of Anna II opposite mezzo-soprano, Margaret Trubiano (Anna I) in Kurt Weill double bill, The Seven Deadly Sins and Mahagonny Songspiel (Red Line Productions) directed by Constantine Costi and choreographed by Shannon Burns. Allie made her debut with Pinchgut Opera featuring in opera film, A Delicate Fire (2020, Womens’ Film Fest) based on the madrigals of Barbara Strozzi (Op.1). In 2022, Allie portrayed silent character Filosofia in Pinchgut Opera’s production of Cesti’s Orontea at The City Recital Hall (2022).
In 2018, Allie became a member of Catapult Dance Company under the direction of Cadi McCarthy, performing in the company's premiere season That Place in Between and Mixed Bill (2020). Within Catapult's PROPEL International Exchange Program, Allie was engaged by international artists Lee Brummer (ilDance) and Rachel Erdos (ISR) as a collaborator and performer on interdisciplinary works Something To Do.. and The Loneliness Project
Allie has been engaged by acclaimed local directors, companies and choreographers including Cass Mortimer Eipper and Charmene Yap “Grey Rhino” (Sydney Festival); Cloe Fournier, Craig Bary, Kay Armstrong, Martin Del Amo, Skip Willcox, Belle Beasley, Caetlyn Watson, Allie is a key collaborator and performer with Sydney Experimental Arts Ensemble led by Eliza Cooper recently performing in full-length work, Bat Lake (FORM Dance Projects) and dance comedy Uh Oh (Red Line Productions).Allie has worked extensively with Israeli choreographer Omer Backley-Astrachan, touring his ensemble work Valley, performing at the Maholohet Dance Festival Tel Aviv (Suzanne Dellal Centre 2017), mentored by Idan Cohen and Melani Burson. She made her solo debut performing Astrachan’s intimate solo work Valley Solo in Sydney Fringe Festival (2016).
On screen, Allie has collaborated with acclaimed Sydney film-maker and choreographer Sue Healey, featuring in short film Circumstance (2020) and immersive, live-streamed work Live Action Relay (Liveworks Festival of Experimental dance). In 2020, Allie featured in Lee Mathews Resort 2021 Campaign appearing in VOGUE and RUSSH Magazine (2020).
